
Jimmie Davis State Park will be the site of “Carnival on Caney” this Saturday, February 25th where through the coordination of the North Louisiana Camping Club, Jackson Parish residents and visitors to the park will celebrate Mardi Gras with a parade and campsite decorating contest.
Adding to the flavor will be the Louisiana Dutch Oven Society who will be putting on a demonstration at 9:00am and serving lunch at noon on the State Park grounds. The parade through the park is slated to start at 2:00pm.

PARADE GUIDELINES
Street legal vehicles and trailers, golf carts and side-by-sides are approved for use.
Side-by-sides have to be trailered at all times except during the parade.
Use of side-by-sides in the park otherwise is a violation.
You must be a licensed driver to operate a motorized vehicle in the park/parade.
There’s no fee to enter the parade.
The $10/day fee for golf carts are waived if you’re participating in the parade.
We ask that you decorate your vehicle/float and provide throws.
Line up will be at the boat ramp parking lot by the day use area (red star on the map).
Please be there by 1:30 PM to line up.
If you’re decorating your vehicle at the park, please get there earlier.
We roll at 2 PM!
SPECTATORS
f you’re not camping, in the parade or a guest of someone camping, please go to the day use area to watch the parade.
