Jackson/Winn 4H Ag Ambassadors tour facilities in North Louisiana

Jackson and Winn 4-H Ag Ambassadors traveled to Parish Meat Processors in Sibley and the Hill Farm Research Station in Claiborne Parish as part of their commitment to learning more about the agricultural industry in Louisiana.

Parish Meat Processing is a craft butchery built to meet the needs of custom and inspected processing clients. Under Louisiana Department of Agriculture inspected processing, local farmers—regardless of their size—can work with us to harvest and package their steers, lambs, and goats for personal use, wholesale, or retail sale. Parish Meat Processing seeks to offer consistently high quality meat products and processing services

The Hill Farm Research Station is located in Claiborne Parish in northern Louisiana about 4 miles south of Homer. The facility is one of 17 research stations operated by the Louisiana State University Agricultural Center through its research division, the Louisiana Agricultural Experiment Station. The station’s research and extension programs emphasize the most abundant and economically significant agricultural commodities of northwestern Louisiana of poultry, beef cattle, and forestry.
