Three Piers on Caney Lake Resealed and Waterproofed

Through the Jackson Parish Watershed Commission’s continued effort to provide patrons of our local lakes the best outing possible, three piers on Caney Lake have been resealed and waterproofed. Receiving the upgrades were the spillway handicap pier, spillway boat pier and Ebeneezer launch pier.

“We had our contractor, Carmon Crumby of CCRS, apply Flood Water Seal that can be purchased at Pardue Builders on the (3) piers on Caney,” commented JPWC  Vice President, Gary Joynor. “We also applied this product on the fishing pier at Chatham Lake and it looks amazing. We are trying to make these piers last a long time for public use.”

During their regularly scheduled April meeting the JPWC also agreed to allow Caney Lake Community Foundation to use the parking lot for their recently held Gumbo Cook-Off and to have fireworks at the spillway parking lot on July 1, 2023.

Building permits for Glen Bennett, Steve Tippen, Jason Thornhill were also approved. Mike Nichols permit was also approved pending showing proof of ownership to the section of land prior to construction starting.
