Four key contributors to Weston High School’s run to the Division V state semifinals in baseball has been named to the Louisiana Baseball Coaches Association (LBCA) All-Region II team. Comprised of schools from Claiborne, Union, Lincoln, Jackson, Ouachita, Bienville, Red River, Winn, Grant and Natchitoches parishes, the Region II team is voted for by coaches who are members of the LBCA.
Representing the Wolves, who had the second highest number of players voted to the elite squad behind five from Ruston High, was: Tait Henderson – Pitcher, Drew Browning – Infield, Bryce Zehr – Outfield and Colton Blundell – Utilty.
The best part for WHS fans is that all four will be back next year as the Wolves had the most underclassmen selected to the 27 member team.
The Hitter of the Year in Region II was Alex Dupuy of Natchitoches-Central, with Bryce McGuire of Choudrant being named Pitcher of the Year. Shawn Staggs of neighboring Saline was also chosen as a Utility Player.
