Get ready to combine a little physical activity and reading at the Jonesboro Branch of the Jackson Parish Library. Angela Walsworth, Jonesboro branch manager for Jackson Parish Library, applied for the StoryWalk through an application process with the LSU AgCenter. The application was based on community participation and engagement.
Storywalk is an innovative and interactive way for readers of all ages to enjoy a story and the outdoors at the same time. Laminated pages from a children’s picture book are displayed on special display posts along an outdoor path in a park.
The StoryWalk at the Chatham Branch was installed last year and has been a great addition. The Jonesboro StoryWalk will be installed in August in the new Jackson Parish Library Park.
