Property and identity fraud scams are real and exploding across the nation. Scammers who will fake deeds can appear to own property and can fraudulently sell, mortgage, rent or otherwise affect the property without the knowledge of the true owner.

Thanks to the Louisiana Clerks of Court, a new Property Fraud Alert program has been established where you can get alerted if documents are filed in your name. Through this FREE STATEWIDE notification system, up to five names per email address can receive the information at no cost.
