Jackson Parish 4-H partners with CoCoRaHs to map precipitation

Want an accurate reading on how much rain was received on any particular day in the area. Now you can go by the Jackson Parish 4-H office located in the LSU-Ag Center office at the Charles H. Garrett Community Center in Jonesboro and check the rain gauge that has been installed.

The Jackson Parish 4-H recently partnered with CoCoRaHS which stands for the Community Collaborative Rain, Hail and Snow Network. CoCoRaHS is a unique, non-profit, community-based network of volunteers working together to measure and map precipitation (rain, hail and snow). By using low-cost measurement tools, stressing training and education, and utilizing an interactive Web-site, the aim is to provide the highest quality data for natural resource, education and research applications.
