It has been an especially enjoyable time for those who participated in the activities at the Chatham Mealsite Senior’s Center over the past several days. Adding to the pleasure of receiving their daily noontime meals was visits by Jackson Parish Sheriff Andy Brown, wife Susana and JPSO staff, Mitchell’s Pharmacy, People’s Bank, Best Home Health, Jackson Parish Library Chatham Branch staff and NELA Rehabiliation.
Patrons also enjoyed celebrating Casandra Tatum’s birthday and the cake made by Delton Spillers as well as playing games, doing crafts and completing another beautiful puzzle. Topping things off was the Jackson Parish Council on Aging (JPCOA) presenting fans to all those in need to help beat the summer heat.

JPCOA Presents Fans
Distribution of fans to our seniors here at the Chatham Senior Center and those who are homebound during this time of extremely hot temperatures are very beneficial.

Patrons called it the best day ever! Sheriff Andy Brown, wife Susana, and the JPSO staff treated everyone to a wonderful fish plate with all the trimmings and a delicious dessert. Then led a fun time playing Bingo. Blackout Winners were: Mary Oldham, Mary Tippen, Ronald Austin, Peggy Eskanazy, and Mildred Ryals.
Mitchell’s Pharmacy
