Series Special! Introducing the 2023 JPSHOF Inductees and Honorees

The Jackson Parish Sports Hall of Fame induction banquet will be held on October 7th at the Family Life Center of First Baptist Church in Jonesboro. Six former greats will be enshrined as the Class of 2023 with three more being recognized for Outstanding Achievement and Service. Also to be honored are the male and female Athletes of the Year for the 2022-23 school year from Jonesboro-Hodge, Weston and Quitman High Schools. Each honoree was chosen by select faculty and staff from each school.

Leading up to gala event the Jackson Parish Journal will feature each of the inductees and honorees. This Edition: 2022-23 Male and Female Athlete of the Year from Jonesboro-Hodge High School.

Competed in three sports at JHHS, making first team All-District in baseball and basketball and earning a berth in the state tournament in golf. Averaged 13 points per game and six assists to lead the JHHS basketball team while batting .465 with 16 stolen bases and compiling a 4-4 record with a 3.75 ERA and 40 strikeouts on the diamond. Was a composite All-State Academic selection after finishing his senior year with a perfect 4.0 grade point average. Plans to major in business at the University of Louisiana-Monroe where he hopes to also play basketball.

This vivacious spark plug was a leader on in both girls basketball and track where she was district champion in two events, runner up in one and came in third in another.  Led the Lady Tigers in points at the district meet after winning the high jump and long jump while also finishing in second and third in the 100 and 300 meters respectively. Was the most all around producer for the JHHS girls basketball team averaging 6 points, 4 assists, 4 rebounds and 3 steals per game.
