This past Tuesday evening in Quitman was a historic occasion as the newly furbished gymnasium got christened in grand style. Not only did the 6th grade girls and boys team open their season with victories and QJH won three of the four contests played, a national record was tied that will never be broken.
It was the 6th grade girls team that put their name in the record books by holding Choudrant scoreless in the 22-0 victory equaling a record that has been tied countless times but can never be bested. The 6th grade boys won by a 20-7 margin followed by the Junior High girls team winning their fourth straight of the season by winning 31-9. In Saline, the Lady Wolves ran their record to 4-1 on the year with a 24-13 victory over the Lady Bobcats while the WJH boys saw their record evened at 2-2 as Saline took a 51-36 victory for their first win of the year.
