JPASD Employee Spotlight: Wendi Johnson – Paramedic

Wendi began her career in EMS in 1993. Along her journey she has served all over the state of Louisiana as  Paramedic, with extensive background in responding to natural disasters including hurricane’s Katrina and Rita. 

Wendi has been at the Jackson Parish Ambulance Service District (JPASD) for four year now and in true form has continued her disaster response being on one of the units that just returned from Florida in response to Hurricane Idalia. While there she aided in evacuations, door to doo search and rescue missions as well as 911 responses. 

Passionate about EMS and patient advocating, Wendi is a dedicated and hard worker evidenced by her being awarded the “Most Hours Worked Award” in May. From September 2022 to date, Wendi has made an incredible 548 calls to people in need.

During her spare time, Wendi enjoys spending time with her close-knit family, her two grandchildren, Brantley and Natilye and her fur baby Gemma. She also loves to travel and is always planning her next vacation to her favorite destination, Scotland. 

She also loves to cook and often extends her gracious hospitality to the crews by making them tasty dishes to try. Wendi Is actively involved with the Krewe of S’iriser, where she has been a member since 2011 and served on Her Empress Royal Court XV. Another past time of hers is attending Escape rooms and listening to crime podcast. 

Wendi is an exceptional Paramedic and the professionalism while performing her job is clearly evident. Thank you for your service to our community.
