
W stands for Weston. In regard to the junior high baseball and softball teams this week it also stands for wins as both diamond dandies blasted their way to victories on Monday and Tuesday.
Softball
Weston 9 Downsville 4 (Monday) Weston scored four in both the first and second inning to put the three inning game on ice. The Lady Wolves showed a keen eye at the plate to coax nine walks. Carlynn Waters, Carly Jo Griffin, Davynee Bearden, Keeley Davis and Brylee Cuthrell all got a hit each and Rachel Bandy scored two runs after getting a pair of walks. Tessa Reeves, Teegan Hall and Anna Shows also scored a run.
Weston 9 Choudrant 2 (Tuesday): The Lady Wolves scored four in the first and third innings as the first four batters in the lineup Carly Jo Griffin, Carlynn Waters, Rachel Bandy, and Keeley Davis all reached base twice and scored two runs each. Teegan Hall also got a pair of hits including a triple and Davynee Bearden drove in a pair. Anna Shows also chipped in with a hit and a run
Baseball
Weston 12 Calvin 4 (Monday) After spotting Calvin to a four run lead, the junior Wolves came storming back. Nine batters got at least one hit that led to Weston scoring 3,4,2, and 3 runs in the four inning victory. Leyton Younse scored three runs and both Dawson Griffin and Easton Borders got two hits, drove in two and scored a run. Eli Henderson, Jensen Waggoner, Kyptin Caskey, Remy Kennard and Lukas Bandy got a hit and scored while Colten Otwell got a hit and knocked a run in and Dane Clifton scored a run.
Weston 11 Choudrant Gold 0 (Tuesday) Bryce Tolar, Dane Clifton, and Easton Borders combined on the one hit shutout and Colt Guyotte got two hits, scored twice and drove in three to lead the offense. Kyptin Caskey chipped in with a pair of hits including a double, drove in two and scored a runs and Eli Henderson, Leyton Younse and Remy Kennard scored two runs each. Tolar and Dawson Griffin also scored a run.
