The Jackson Parish Tourism Board held their regularly scheduled monthly meeting on October 9th where the 2024 tentative fishing tournament schedule on Caney Lake was set.
Dates and events penciled in for 2024 were:
February 16 – Crappie Tourney
March 23 – Hog Fest
April 5-7: Archery Tourney
Getting billboards and facebook ads approved at a cost of up to but not exceeding $200.00 for the development of the ads, as well as, getting quotes on promotional items and signs at Ebenezer Park was also agreed upon.
The panel of Tammy Gunter, Kelly Spangler, Christie Weeks, Sandy Joyner and Yumeka Washington also agreed to honor the request made by the Jackson Parish Chamber of Commerce for a $4,000.00 contribution to the fireworks display at the Christmas Festival.
The next regular monthly meeting will be held at 5:30 pm on Tuesday, November in the Sunshine Room of the Jackson Parish Administration Building, located at 160 Industrial Drive.
