There was a time when going to the library meant stepping into a building full of books and keeping the noise to a minimum. Who as a young child hasn’t been “shussed” by a librarian?
If you happen to visit either the Jonesboro or Chatham Branch of the Jackson Parish Library you are in for a very different experience. Here you are actually encouraged to talk out loud, laugh and even yell if you fell like it.
Welcome to the library of the 21st century.
The kicker is that the JPL Branches don’t focus on inviting you inside but out. That is where such ingenious ideas like the StoryWalk and Interactive Playground Park is located.
Now the JPL is looking at adding to their outdoor activity lineup and wants the community’s input.
This Monday, November 6th, the JPL invites all interested parties to come to the Chatham Branch at 5:30 pm to participate in a discussion on how a music sensory garden can benefit the community.
Hope to see you there!
