Madison Chaplin commits to Northwestern State University

Madison Chaplin of Quitman High School has committed to play softball for Northwestern State University in Natchitoches. The Lady Demons secured the pledge from the gem on the diamond on Thursday, November 2nd. 

During her outstanding career at Quitman, which she will conclude this coming spring, Chaplin has proven to be the ultimate lead off batter, providing a rare combination of tremendous plate awareness, speed and power. 

In her four years to date at Quitman, Chaplin has compiled a .386 batting average, that included hitting .427 and .453 her last two years.  Already having achieved impressive marks of scoring 170 runs and driving in 91 RBI , she is a cinch to become a rare member of the 200 run / 100 RBI club. Adding to her versatility is 76 career steals.

Chaplin is expected to make her commitment official on November 17th during an official  signing ceremony that has been scheduled for 9:30 am on November 17th in the Quitman High School gymnasium.
