OCS brings out the Saline boys best

Something about playing Ouachita Christian School (OCS) out of Monroe that seems to bring the best out of the Saline boys basketball team. Just before Christmas when the Bobcats traveled to Monroe, Trent Ledbetter poured in a career high 30 points. On Tuesday it was Maddox Williams that had the game of his life at home. Both special days led to victory, the latest a 62-55 triumph that upped the Bobcats record to 12-9 and a jump to #17 in the Division V rankings among “non-select” schools. Class A, OCS, fell to 6-7 on the year and dropped to #22 in the Division IV “|select” school rankings.

It didn’t take Maddox long to set a new personal standard. The senior guard exploded for a one-quarter best, four 3-pointers, in the first quarter paced Saline to an 18-15 lead. Another Williams trey, leading to five more points in the second quarter on his way to a team high 20 points, along with 8 of Gavon Dailey’s 17 points in the contest, on the strength of his two “trips” helped the Bobcats take a 40-27 lead into the break.

Eli Ferguson and Trent Ledbetter also both reached double digits in scoring with 12 and 11 points respectively with two point by Connor Roberts rounding out the Bobcats scoring.
