Two Schools Exceed JPSD Attendance Goals for January

Attendance Matters! That is the message that the Jackson Parish School District (JPSD) implores parents and students to understand in their “Help to Eliminate Truancy” campaign.

The goal is for each school to achieve 95% attendance for the month and the JPSD is pleased to announce Jonesboro-Hodge Elementary School (J-HES) and Quitman High School (QHS) has exceeded the benchmark in January. The district average as was at 93.99%, with all five schools in the JPSD averaging over 91% in attendance for the month.

Recognizing the importance of students attending classes on a daily basis, Ms. Danielle Copeland, Principal at J-HES, applauded all responsible for helping her school achieve parish leading status.

“The Jonesboro-Hodge Elementary Faculty and Staff would like to thank its students, parents, guardians, bus drivers, and community stakeholders for ensuring students arrive at school on time and ready to learn! The district’s attendance goal is 95% but J-HES is proud to announce they surpassed that with 96.14% for January! Way to go, Tigers! Let’s keep striving for this each month.” – Ms. Danielle Copeland, Principal
