Clovis “Clay” Gottfried
May 27, 1964 – February 8, 2024

Clovis “Clay” Gottfried, age 59 of Jonesboro, passed away surrounded by his family on Thursday, February 8, 2024. Clay loved his family dearly. He was a hard working man that took pride in taking good care of his family. His grandchildren were his world and he enjoyed doting as much love and time on them as he could. When his grands were around no one else existed. Clay also enjoyed hunting and watching old John Wayne westerns in his free time.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Gail Gottfried; son, James Gottfried; daughter, Melanie Coody and husband Cagney; grandchildren, Maylen Coody, Caius Coody, Cohen Coody; brother, Stormy Gottfried and wife Diane; nephews, Ro Griffith, Myka Griffith; aunt, Mickey Knotts; brother in law, Ronnie Griffith; a host of cousins, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Walter Gottfried; mother, Bessie Lula (Prine) Lester; sister, Shela Griffith; aunts, Elaine Carmichael, Jo Buckelew; uncles, Marvin Prine, Charles Prine.

Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, February 11, 2024 in the chapel of Southern-Edmonds Funeral Home from 5:00PM until 7:00PM. Funeral services are set for 11:00AM, Monday, February 12, 2024 in the chapel with Bro. Bubba Walsworth officiating. Burial will follow in Springhill Cemetery under the direction of Southern-Edmonds Funeral Home.

Serving the family as pallbearers will be Rickey Allen, Marvin Carmichael, Dustin Carmichael, Ro Griffith, Myka Griffith, Rickey Allen, Jr., Randy Porter.
