
The throng of Jackson Parish fishing teams made their presence known this past weekend at the Northeast Louisiana High School Angler tournament that was fished on Lake Claiborne. Four of the local two-person teams representing Weston, Quitman and Grace Christian schools finished in the top ten claiming 4th, 5th, 6th and 9th places.
Claiming the best finish among the local pairs was Hailey Chatham and Ben Ramsey who caught weighed five fish for a total of 14.66 pounds. Just one spot behind was Landin Chatham and partner Hunter VanBuren whose stringer of five fish weighed 13.51 pounds. Coming in 6th place was Hayden Davis and Maddox Duck who weighed in five fish for a total of 13.03 pounds. Brody Halbrook and Brendan Newton rounded out the top ten finishers with a five fish stringer of 10.36 pounds to finish in 9th place overall out of the 45 teams that fished.
