Under the leadership of President Christie Weeks, the Jonesboro Study Guild gathered for a meeting called to order on March 23rd. Hostess for the evening, Wilda Smith, graciously welcomed members to the eventful evening.
The highlight of the gathering was a captivating program provided by Bayli Brosett, the curator for Briarwood Carolyn Dormon Nature Preserve located in Saline, Louisiana.
Brosett shared insightful information and history about Briarwood, offering attendees a glimpse into the wonders of this natural reserve. One of the key takeaways from Brosett’s presentation was the “Friendship Program,” an initiative open for all to join, fostering connections within the community and a deeper appreciation for nature. Brosett also shared details on how tours could be scheduled and reserved at Briarwood, encouraging members to explore this natural gem.
The door prize provided by Brossett was won by Rose Mary Ewing. Following the enlightening program, attendees were treated to delicious refreshments, providing a perfect opportunity for members to mingle and discuss the evening’s insights.
