
One of the most anticipated events of the year for residents of Jackson Parish and visitors from surrounding areas takes place on Saturday as the Sunshine Festival is celebrated in Jonesboro.
As usual main street in Jonesboro will be full of young and old alike as they stroll among the vendor booths, enjoy the live music and marvel at the antique cars that will be on the Jay Mallard Ford car lot for the viewing.
Kicking off the festivities will be the Children’s Parade at 10:00 am. At the same time the annual Quilt Turning by the Heritage Quilt Guild will take place at the Jonesboro Branch of the Jackson Parish Library.
A great lineup of musicians and bands are also on tap to perform in the Pocket Park from 10:00 am – 3:30 pm as shown below highlighted by the Nouveau String Band from Lafayette Louisiana , sponsored by the Jackson Parish Museum and Fine Arts performing from 1:00 – 3:30 pm.
