Jackson Parish Police Jury to hold monthly meeting on Monday, July 8

The Jackson Parish Police Jury will hold their regularly scheduled monthly meeting on Monday, July 8th. The session will take place at 5:30 pm in the Nathaniel Zeno, Jr. Meeting Room of the Jackson Parish Administrative Building, located at 160 Industrial Drive in Jonesboro.

Approve Minutes
1. Adopt the minutes of the June 10, 2024, Regular Police Jury Meeting, monthly purchase orders, and payment of all bills.

Approve Committee Reports:

Policy & Personnel Committee
2. Adopt the minutes of the June 24, 2024, Policy Committee meeting
3. Consider and act on allowing the Secretary-Treasurer and the Operations Manager the authority to deviate from a policy when needed and immediately notifying the President of the deviation and the reason.
4. Consider and act on changing the new hire policy to include that all new hires shall be paid for any holiday during their 60-day probationary period.

Finance Committee
5. Adopt the minutes of the June 26, 2024, Finance Committee meeting
6. Consider and act on the Secretary-Treasurer attending the 69th Annual OPAO Conference on July 31, 2024, through August 2, 2024, in Lafayette, LA.
7. Consider and act on adopting the 2024 tax millage.
8. Consider and act on starting the process of cancelling the jury’s commitment with the State of Louisiana on the $250,000 for the pavilion with the understanding that $125,000 will go directly to the recreation board for the completion of the pavilion.

Announcements and Notifications

Jackson Parish Police Jury will host the annual Region 5 Police Jury meeting at the Dr. Charles H. Garrett Community Center. Date and time to be determined.
