At the beginning of the 2018-19 LHSAA softball season, first year Quitman High School head coach, Justin Dodson had a 4′ x 8′ white wooden sign erected alongside the QHS softball field.
Time went on and nothing was ever added to the sign. Soon people started asking what the sign was for? The answer given by Dodson was that is where our state championship picture is going to be displayed.
For five years the sign has sat there blank. Not anymore!
As of July 11th, the former solid white sign now showcases in brilliant color the 2024 LHSAA Division V state softball champion Quitman High School team.
Special thanks goes to Sign Design and owner Ronny Madere for producing the sign and Kari Potts for providing the artwork.
The only question now is when will another sign be put up?
