By scoring multiple runs in the odd numbered innings, the Jackson Parish 12U girls All-Stars beat Moss Bluff 12-2 to even their record at the Little League state tournament played July 12-16 at St. Julien Park in Broussard, LA.
The victory kept JP12U alive in the seven team, double elimination tournament after dropping the tourney opener 12-2 to Avoyelles Parish. The victory set up a contest with Lake Charles which Jackson Parish lost a close 10-7 contest.
Jackson Parish 12 Moss Bluff 2: Gracie Gray and Bella Blewer scored three runs each and Amelia Staggs pitched a complete game three hitter to pace the locals to the elimination round victory. Kamryn James added double, two RBI, and scored twice while Teegan Hall, who swiped three bases and Staggs, who hit a triple, both scored twice and knocked a run in. Tessa Reeves, Charleigh Newton and Raleigh Guilliams all had an RBI each and Kelly Brister chipped in with a hit.

Lake Charles 10 Jackson Parish 7: Falling behind 5-0 early proved to big a hill to climb as a determined rally fell short. Gracie Gray led the locals offensively by going getting three hits, including a double, scoring twice and knocking one in. Kamryn James had two hits and an RBI while Bella Blewer, Amelia Staggs, Charleigh Newton, Kelly Brister and Camryn Ashley all scored a run each. Raleigh Guilliams, who added an RBI, and Tessa Reeves chipped in with a hit apiece and Teegan Hall walked twice.

Jackson Parish batted .279 as a team over the three games with Gracie Gray leading the way with a .625 batting average and six runs scored. Kamryn James knocked in the most runs with three and Teegan Hall led the team with three steals. Amelia Staggs gained the sole pitching victory.
