On Sunday, July 29th, Jackson Parish Sheriff Office K-9 units in conjunction with the Winn Parish Chase Team, captured two immigrants who had escaped from the US Immigration and Customs Facility located in Jonesboro. 

According to reports, early Sunday afternoon a call was received by the Jackson Parish Sheriff’s Office that two immigrants that were being housed at the facility run by LaSalle Corrections and located on Industrial Avenue in Jonesboro had escaped and fled on foot. Immediately the JPSO K-9 units along with JPSO Deputies were dispatched resulting in the two individuals being located and captured in a wooded area about 250 yards south of the facility just a little over one hour of the report being received. 

Agencies involved were from the Jackson Parish Sheriff’s Office K-9 Units, JPSO Deputies, Lasalle Corrections, US Immigration and Customs and Winn Parish Sheriff’s Office Chase Team and Deputies.
