
The Town of Jonesboro Board of Aldermen made official the expected water rate increase at their regularly scheduled monthly meeting held on Tuesday, September 10th at the Charles H. Garrett Community Center.
Prior to the vote to increase water rates for consumers of the Jonesboro Water System a Public Hearing was held to allow for questions and concerns to be heard from the public.
In additional business taken by panel members James Ginn, Devin Flowers, Nia Evans, Robbie Siadek and Robert Hunter, the abatement of nuisance on 207 Vinson Street was approved as well as amendments to the budget.
The session started with the agenda, minutes from last month’s session and the financial statement from the July and August meetings being approved. Reports from department heads of Public Works, Fire Department and Police Department were heard before comments by the Town Council and Mayor J. “Spike” Harris closed the session.
