JRPD Expo Pavilion Taking Shape

This time last year, many in Jackson Parish dreamed about how great it would be if the area once again had a place that events like rodeo’s, field day’s and outdoor events could be held.

That dream is fast becoming a visible reality.

A drive to the Jackson Parish Recreation Department Sports Complex now brings into focus the currently being constructed Jackson Parish Expo Pavilion and all the promise of memories of the days gone by being rekindled.

“The shell of the building and the lighting is in place,” said JPRD Director Tommy Smith. “We expect Phase 1 of the project to be completed by Thanksgiving.”

Phase 2, which will entail the construction of the concession area, bleachers, fencing, penning areas and the completion of other interior amenities such as restrooms and dressing areas is expected to be finished by the summer of 2025.
