Police Jury Approves Jackson Parish Recreation Board 2025 General Budget

Jackson Parish Recreation Department Director Tommy Smith not only came away with the news he hoped to hear at the Jackson Parish Police Jury meeting held on Tuesday, October 15th. He came away with a whole lot more. 

As in $83,333.33 more.

That was the amount of the check that was given to Smith by the JPPJ as first installment on the $250,000.00 general budget for 2025 that the JPRD had requested the juror members approve which they agreed to do so.

In other business handled by juror members Lewis Chatham, Amy Mageee, Sheketia Combs, Todd Culpepper (President), Tarneshala “Niki” Cowans, and Regina Rowe the resignation of a road barn employee was accepted and Entergy was named as the energy provider for Jackson Parish. Juror, Keith Burris, was absent.

Prior to the actions taken, the panel accepted the reports filed by the Road and Solid Waste Committe along with approving reports given by the directors of the Operations / Management, Road, Solid Waste Departments.
