LHSAA delays release of prep football postseason brackets

Jonesboro-Hodge completed their regular season this past Friday night with a 28-0 victory over Cedar Creek to qualify for the LHSAA Division IV playoffs. Normally, where and who the Tigers would play in the first round would have been released on Saturday, but in a rare turn of events the LHSAA has delayed releasing the postseason brackets for all “select” and “non-select” divisions.

In a prepared statement released on Friday, November 8th, the LHSAA explained the reason for the delay.

BATON ROUGE – The Louisiana High School Athletic Association (LHSAA) will delay the release of the 2024 postseason football brackets due to ongoing litigation with one of our member schools. This situation could affect all 307 schools that participate in football across the state. Given the possible repercussions of the decision made, the LHSAA will withhold all eight postseason brackets until the legal process is concluded and the matter is fully resolved. We appreciate the understanding and patience or our member schools and fans as we work through this important issue.
