
On the night that Bryce Zehr and Olivia Marsh were named King and Queen of the 2024 Homecoming festivities at Weston High School it was Briley Peterson that ruled the court. The talented forward tied her season best in scoring with 23 points and posted a new best with 15 rebounds to help lift Weston to an impressive 56-32 victory over Class 2A D’Arbonne Woods. With the victory the Lady Wolves improved to an area best 9-3 record in girls play. D’Arbonne Woods fell to 3-4 with the loss. I
By all accounts the contest was over early as Weston raced to a 14-6 first quarter lead that was stretched to 34-17 at the break. A 13-4 advantage in the third quarter allowed head coach Stacy Tucker to empty his bench. Carly Jo Griffin also had a big game with 13 points and Anslee Aldy chipped in with seven. Nadia Siadek and Rachel Bandy added four points apiece and both Olivia Otwell and Jakayla Fourd scored two points each. Carlynn Waters rounded out the scoring with a free throw.
D’Arbonne Woods 64 Weston 47 (boys) – Dawson Clifton scored a new career high 16 points but a tough night shooting that saw Weston make 20 of 51 shots and only 4 of 20 from long range spelled doom. Lajavion Harris and Bryce Zehr scored 7 and 6 points respectively while both Aiden Faulkner and Brody Tidwell finished with five each. Nathin Wages and Daniel Williams also scored four points apiece as Weston fell to 4-8 on the year with their third straight loss.
