Prep Baseball! Weston finds offense, Quitman still looking

After both Weston and Quitman started the 2025 season with shutout losses, Weston found their offense in week two while the Wolverines are still looking for theirs as both schools ended the week by playing in the Many Tournament.  

Entering the week with an 0-2 record after dropping identical 12-0 contests, the Wolves won three games in two days to improved to 3-2 on they year. Weston started the week by beating Class 5A Ouachita Parish by a 13-12 margin on Thursday and then followed that up by winning two games on Friday, beating Red River 15-1 and Converse 18-4 at the Many tourney.

Defending Class B state champion Quitman was also hoping to rebound from an 11-0 opening season loss to Calvary Baptist but the Wolverines continued to struggle to find their offense in the three games played in the Many tourney to drop to 0-4 on the year. Quitman opened play by falling to Stanley 6-0 and then lost to St. Mary’s by a 4-2 score and Zwolle by a 6-2 margin. 

Upcoming Games

Weston will continue their early season gauntlet of playing higher classified teams this coming week as they travel to Division I, Northwood High School in Shreveport on Monday for a 5:00 pm contest, before hosting Division II Bossier on Tuesday with first pitch slated for 6:00 pm. Quitman High will also be at home on Tuesday when they welcome D’Arbonne Woods for a junior varsity and varsity contest scheduled to begin at 4:00 pm.
