2025 Carnival on Caney Parade Entry Winner
In celebration of Mardi Gras, the 2025 “Carnival on Caney” was held on February 23rd at the Jimmie Davis State Park where patrons Laissez Les Bon Temps Rouler (Let the Good Times Roll). A full day of activities was enjoyed by all beginning with beignets and coffee in the morning, lunch at noon, the afternoon parade and live music and dancing that evening.
The North Louisiana Camping Club got the day started by serving fresh Café du Monde beignets and coffee and cocoa bar from 9:30 till noon. Those in attendance then moved over to enjoy lunch provided by the Caney Creek Cuisinières, the local chapter of the Louisiana Dutch Oven Society. At 2:00 pm the always entertaining parade took place with “Caney Krewe” being named best entry. The event concluded with attendees dressed in their “grooviest” attire enjoying live music and dancing.
