The Jackson Parish Library (JPL) is pleased to announce that WIFI Hotspots are now available for checkout at the Jonesboro and Chatham branches. This opportunity is made possible through the JPL being one of 30 libraries across the nation selected to participate in the Community Connect: Fostering Digital Access Program.
This is an initiative of the American Library Association (ALA) and Capitol One that helps rural libraries offer internet access and financial education for their patrons and will be managed by ALA’s Public Programs Office in collaboration with the Public Library Association.
“We are so proud to be selected to bring Community Connect to Jackson Parish Library and encourage community members to visit the library to check out a WIFI hotspot to bring home,” said JPL Director Floyd Knox. “We are also excited to offer resources on digital and financial literacy and will offer programs to help patrons establish at home internet connections with free tools from the FCC’s Affordable Connectivity Program.”
Jackson Parish Library will also receive a $2,000.00 cash grant to support programs such as financial and digital literacy. For more information and a calendar of upcoming library programs, visit https://www.jacksonparishlib.org
