Jackson Parish 4-H Director, Kristina Bourgeous, announces that the LSU AgCenter Cooperative Extension is offering twenty paid summer internships for current or rising college junior, senior or graduate students. 

Participants will learn how to plan and conduct extension programs by working alongside our educators at a parish Extension office. If interested you are encouraged to act today as the deadline to apply is March 15th, 2025.

Louisiana 4-H Food Challenge begins March 12th

After weeks of practice, three 4-H teams from Jackson Parish will head to Alexandria, LA on March 12th to compete against teams from across the state in the Louisiana Food Challenge. 

At the competition, teams will be given a mystery food item to use as their key ingredient and have 40 minutes to plan and prepare a dish in front of a live audience as well as clean their space. After the dish has been prepared, contestants will bring their dish before a panel of judges where they will discuss how they prepared the dish, the nutritional values, and the cost to make it.

The Jackson Parish 4-H would like to thank Gracepoint Christian Academy in Jonesboro for hosting practices at their facility.
