Peggy (McCormick) Choate
June 10, 1943 – March 23, 2025

Peggy Sue (McCormick) Choate passed away at Forest Haven Nursing Home in Jonesboro on Sunday, March 23, 2025. She was 81 years old. Peggy was a woman of faith, as well as a faithful wife. She was a very selfless person and found pleasure in doing for others. Peggy loved spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, reading and music, and was an avid genealogist.

Survivors include her son, Paul Choate; grandchildren, Lilith Choate, Austyn Choate, Alayna Choate (Tyler Bolton) and Katy Choate; sister, Janis Culver (Billy), brother-in-law, Darri Johnson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, Tony Kenneth Choate; son, David Choate; father, Jack Hugh McCormick; mother, Peggy (Thomas) McCormick; and sisters, Mary Johnson and Barbara Anstead

Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, March 26, 2025 from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM at Southern-Edmonds Funeral Home Chapel in Jonesboro. The funeral service will be in the chapel at 12:00 PM with Father Dutch Voltz officiating. Burial will follow in Strange Cemetery in Readhimer, under the direction of Southern-Edmonds Funeral Home.

Serving as pallbearers will be Austyn Choate, Tyler Bolton, Michael Choate, Garrett Lemmon, Daniel Dunn and Devon Dunn.
