Area Thinclads look to set more records at Weston Invitational on Thursday

The Weston Invitational will be run at Quitman High School on Thursday, April 17th

Local track and field competition enthusiasts from Jonesboro-Hodge, Quitman, and Weston High School have had the chance to witness not only school record-breaking performances from athletes from all three this season but also historical parish records as well go by the wayside. 

This Thursday, it will be easy to watch all the local record breakers in action as all three area schools will be competing in the 2025 Weston Invitational that will be held at the track complex on the campus of Quitman High School. 

Medals will be given to individuals for the top three places in each event, as well as plaques for the 1st place team and runner-up in both the boys and girls divisions, determined by point totals earned by team competitors in each event. 

Field events are slated to begin at 3:30 pm. The 3200-meter run will kick off the running events at 4:00 pm with a rolling schedule of track events expected to start running around 5:00 pm or as soon as all field events are completed.

A small bleacher section is available for spectators, but it is recommended for spectators to bring folding chairs for their seating comfort that can be placed around the track. Entry fee for spectators is $7.00 per person.

Boys High Jump, followed by girls
Girls javelin, followed by boys
Girls pole vault, followed by boys
Girls long jump (pit located inside track)
Boys long jump (new pit located end of track)
Triple jump follows long jump at each pit
Girls shot put, followed by boys
Boys discus, followed by girls discus
