Hailey Chatham (l) and Ben Ramsey (r)
All season long, Hailey Chatham and Ben Ramsey had been near the top of the many Northeast Louisiana High School Anglers fishing tournament standings but just couldn’t seem to get over the hump.
That is until Saturday! The pair representing Weston High School broke through for their first-ever tourney title, landing a five-fish stringer that weighed 14.57 lbs and included the “Big Bass” of the day, a 3.69 lunker pulled from the waters of Lake St. John in Ferriday.
Hayden Davis and Maddox Duck of Quitman High also fished in the elite tourney that allowed only the top ten anglers of the year after the NELAHS circuit was complete, coming in 5th place by virtue of a four-fish stringer weighing 7.82 pounds.
