By virtue of winning two games out of the four played at the District 8 tournament, the Jackson Parish 8U All-Stars have qualified for the Dixie Youth “Coach Pitch” State Tournament that will be played July 3-6 in Jefferson Parish.

Under the guidance of Manager Nick Sampey and assistants, Darion Hudson, Jacob Norred, and Raimey Hall, the locals will open the tournament by playing three Pool D contests beginning with a Thursday, July 10th, contest scheduled for 5:15 pm against the District 4 fourth-place team. On Friday, July 11th, JP8U will play the District 2 champions at 10:15 am, followed by a 2:15 pm contest against the District 4 second-place finisher. 

If JP8U wins their Pool Play competition, they will move to the Championship Bracket, where they will play the champion from Pool B at 1:00 pm on Saturday, July 12th. If Jackson Parish qualifies for the Championship Bracket as the aggregate second-place finisher from Pools D, E ,F, they will play the Pool A champion at 11:00 am on Saturday. 

Competing for Jackson Parish will be Kaden Blewer, Matthew Buchan, Uriah Hall, Davis Hudson, Rafe Lewter, Kase Mathews, Pistol McCurdy, Levi Norred, Rowan Sampey, Anderson Smiley, and Emmett Thomas
