On Wednesday, August 6th, a 911 call was received of a shooting that had taken place on North Polk Avenue in the town of Jonesboro, which resulted in the death of a local resident.

According to a report of the tragic event, Jackson Parish Sheriff’s Office Deputies and Jonesboro Police Department Officers arrived on the scene to find that 24-year-old Darrell Fisher had been shot multiple times, which proved to be fatal injuries.

JPSO officials confirmed that the shooting is currently being ruled as self-defense, and no charges have been filed at present. No further information is available at this time, as a joint investigation by the JPD and JPSO is continuing.
