Jonesboro-Hodge Middle School invites you to come and support the youthful Tigers when they open the 2025 football season by hosting  Arcadia Junior High on Tuesday, August 26th. The contest will be played at JHMS, located at 440 Old Winnfield Hwy in Jonesboro, with the kickoff scheduled for 5:30 pm.

“We are eager to get the season started,” said JHMS head coach Max Martinez. “The guys have been working hard, and we are expecting to have a good season.”

Tigers take down Haynesville in Scrimmage

Giving credence to the prediction of a good season by the young Tiger team is the performance that was exhibited in the scrimmage against perennial power Haynesville on Thursday. While no score is officialy kept, JHHS crossed the goal line twice compared to just once for the Golden Tornado.

Corey Campbell was named Player of the Game after scoring both Tiger touchdowns, one by breaking off a long run on offense and the other being on the defensive side of the ball with a “scoop and score” of a Haynesville turnover. Campbell also had a third score called back due to a penalty. Other players that earned praise from the coaching staff were Jasen McNeal, Greg Hendricks and Kaleb Washington.

“I am really proud of the effort given by our guys,” said Martinez. “Our defense played well all game and for the most part we won up front all night on both sides of the ball. We have a lot of things we need to work on but overall I thought we played very well.”
