Local Students Learn From Area Professionals About Various Career Paths

WHS juniors and seniors received a visit from Pharmacist Sharon Barnett

Thanks to the creativity of the administration and staff of area schools in Jackson Parish, local students gain a well-rounded education from more than reading books and getting instructions from teachers. 

Recently , the high school students at Quitman and Weston High School were given a special treat when professionals from various career paths gave presentations on their field of expertise. 

Professionals who shared career information at Weston High School were Sharon Barnett, a Pharmacist with 35 years of experience, Mrs. Tolliver of Bayou Area Health Education Center (AHEC), and Lindlay Howell, a Marketer for Winn Parish Medical Center.

Presenters at Quitman High School were Matt Green of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and National Electrical Contractors Association, United States Armed Services Recruiter Lamont Kerr, Max Sanders, and Toshonda Tolliver
