October is National Principals Month, and the Jackson Parish School District (JPSD) is excited to highlight each of the area principals this month- starting off with Mr. Chris Cavin of Quitman High School!
This is Mr. Cavin’s first year as principal, though he brings 21 years of experience in education. Inspired by his high school geometry teacher, Mr. Cavin wanted to make learning engaging and fun for every student—a passion he continues to bring to QHS every day.
What he loves most about the Quitman community is how involved and caring everyone is, from students and families to staff, making his role as principal a joy. Mr. Cavin shares, “Thank you for the opportunity to serve this school and community. Every day is an exciting new challenge.”
Outside of school, Mr. Cavin enjoys playing golf (even if he’s still perfecting his swing!), spending time with his wife of 23 years, two daughters, and their dog Izzy.
Join the JPSD in thanking Mr. Cavin for his dedication and leadership during his first year as principal!
