New Jackson Parish School District Superintendent William “Billy” Carter made a visit to Weston High School on September 24th, where he spoke to juniors and seniors in Ms. Howell’s class.
While there, Carter shared the experiences he had as a teacher, Assistant Principal, and Principal that led him to his new position. He also explained his goals for education in Jackson Parish and what he saw as the peaks and valleys of his position.
Following was a question-and-answer session where the attentive students requested Carter’s to share his views on education in Jackson Parish. After providing insights, he then asked questions of his own to gain the students’ perspective on what they thought would better the learning process.
The WHS administration, faculty, staff and students of Ms. Howell’s class would like to thank Superintendent Carter for taking the time to visit with them.
