Jackson Parish Schools has been awarded a $14,484.00 grant from the Weyerhaeuser Giving Fund to support the reinstated Welding Program. Currently operating with older machines, these funds will allow the Jackson Parish School District to purchase new welding equipment to better prepare students with the hands-on skills needed for success in today’s workforce.
In both rural and urban settings, the Weyerhaeuser Giving Fund supports hundreds of important organizations and programs in the communities where they operate with funding, time, expertise, and resources.
Weyerhaeuser made its first charitable donation in 1903 and has since provided more than $270 million in grants through its formal giving program, which was established in 1948.
A huge thank you to Weyerhaeuser for investing in the future of our students and supporting career and technical education in Jackson Parish!
