National Principals Month! Recognizing David Huckaby of Weston High School

Throughout October, which has been deemed National Principals Month, the Jackson Parish School District is proudly celebrating the incredible principals who lead our schools with dedication and heart! Today, we recognize Mr. David Huckaby, Principal of Weston High School!

Mr. Huckaby is in his third year as principal and brings an incredible 30 years of experience in education. Coming from a long line of educators—including teachers, principals, and supervisors—Mr. Huckaby was inspired to follow in his family’s footsteps and make a positive impact on young people. He is passionate about helping students recognize the many opportunities available to them through hard work and dedication.

One of Mr. Huckaby’s proudest accomplishments as principal has been seeing a positive change in school culture, where all students are treated equally and supported in their growth. He is especially grateful for the strong community and parental support that makes Weston High such a special place. Whenever there is a need, the Weston community comes together for the betterment of the school.

A native of Winnfield, Louisiana, Mr. Huckaby enjoys spending time outdoors and traveling with family and friends, creating memories that will last a lifetime.
