Nathan Pierce earns top awards at state Foresty Career Development Event

Forestry CDE High Point Individual Champion

Nathan Pierce from Weston High School was named High Point Individual of the Louisiana State Forestry Career Development Event held on October 21st at the Hill Farm Research Station in Homer.

Having the highest individual score in compass and pacing, sawlog estimation, and map reading, Nathan compiled a total score of 636 points of a possible 700 to cruise to the overall champion title. 

By virtue of his victory and on the heels of claiming the same title at the Area 1 Forestry CDE earlier this month, Nathan has earned a second scholarship to Louisiana Tech University if he pursues a degree in Forestry.
