Jackson Parish Police Jury holds monthly meeting for November

The Jackson Parish Police Jury held their regularly scheduled monthly meeting on Monday, November 10th, in the Nathaniel Zeno Meeting Room of the Jackson Parish Administrative Building, located at 160 Industrial Avenue in Jonesboro. 

Items discussed and acted on by Jury members Todd Culpepper (President), Amy Magee, Lewis Chatham, Tarneshala “Niki” Cowans, Sheketia Combs, Regina Rowe, and Keith Burris were as follows.

Adopted minutes of the October meeting
Payment of the monthly purchase order
Payment of all bills
Approved Committee Reports 
Approved Management Reports
Approved Engineering Report
Approved 3rd Quarter Budget Amendments
Entered into a Cooperative Endeavor Agreement (CEA) with the Jackson Parish Ambulance Service District for their request for opioid funds
Approved the spending budget for the ACT 461 funds
Approved hiring Paul Riley and Company for Engineering Services for the 2026 Road Program
Approved Riley and Company to advertise Lakeshore Drive – Phase II Project, contingent on FP&C approval, funds to be used in 2026
Approved Resolution for payment of Lakeshore Drive Project
Approved hiring of Landon Pierce for the Road Department General Labor position
Approve hiring of Thomas Holland for the Road Department Operator 2 position
Approved authorizing Operations Manager to get full broker’s opinion on adjudicated property in Hodge, LA (2 lots)
Approved lowering the minimum bid requirements for the 402 8th Street property and to authorize bids again. 
Approved overtime for the Solid Waste Department to work on the holiday, Friday, December 26th
Approved authorizing the Secretary-Treasurer to publish the notice of the Preliminary Consolidated Budget Hearing
Approve acting on Parish Board appointments

The proposed 2026 Consolidated Budget of the Jackson Parish Police Jury is available for public inspection during regular business hours of the Police Jury Administration Building, located at 160 Industrial Drive in Jonesboro, LA. The proposed budget is scheduled for a Public Hearing and final adoption at the regular monthly Police Jury meeting to be held in the Nathaniel Zeno Jr. Meeting Room of the Jackson Parish Administration Building, located at 160 Industrial Avenue in Jonesboro, LA, on December 5, 2025
