
The Jackson Parish School Board will hold its regularly scheduled monthly meeting at 11:00 am on Monday, April 13th in the Conference Room of the Jackson Parish School District Central Office located at 315 Pershing Hwy. in Jonesboro.
Expected to attend are board members Mary Saulters (District 1), Calvin Waggoner (District 2), Rick Barlow (District 3), Gerry Mims (District 4), Paulette Belton (District 5), Wade McBride (District 6), and Dennis Clary (District 7), along with JPSD Superintendent William Carter.
Featured on the agenda is to consider approving the resolution to adopt the Attorney General’s guidance as its own and direct all schools within its jurisdiction to implement H.B. 71- displaying of the Ten Commandments in each classroom.
Principals Chris Cavin of Quitman High School and Danielle Copeland of Jonesboro-Hodge Elementary School will then be recognized to give information regarding the National Institute for Excellence in Teaching (NIET).
Also to be considered is approval to add a third Administrative position at Weston High School and Quitman High School, and the adoption of items per various committee recommendations.
