Prep Baseball: All three Jackson Parish Schools Qualify for LHSAA Playoffs

The 2026 LHSAA regular season for baseball drew to a close on Tuesday, but for Jonesboro-Hodge, Quitman, and Weston High Schools, the season continues as all three have qualified for the postseason for the first time in five years, all with hopes of making the State Tournament that will be held at McMurray Park in Sulphur, LA.

In one of the better “feel-good” stories of the year, Jonesboro-Hodge (14-7) qualified for the Division IV playoffs to earn a postseason berth for the first time since 2021. The Tigers, seeded #13 in the 24-team bracket, will play host to #20 Merryville (8-11) on April 21st. The winner will then travel to #4 seed Centerville for a regional round matchup.

In Class B action, District 1B champion Weston (21-12) claimed the highest seeding at #4, followed by Quitman High (17-14) at #7. By virtue of their lofty status, both earned first-round byes in the 20-team bracket with Weston slated to host the winner of #13 Anacoco and #20 Avoyelles Public Charter at a date to be determined and Quitman scheduled to host #10 Stanley in the regional round on April 30th.
