A whole lot of birdies and even a few eagles were sighted at the Jackson Parish Golf Course on April 14th when a strong field of 24 golfers, which made up five teams, took part in the fifth “Tuesday Scramble” of the season.
At the end of the event, the best score of the weekly tournament season was equaled, not once but twice, leading to DJ Harrell, Zack Pickett, Dylan Pickett, Reggie Hall, and Kyler West being declared the winners of the scorecard playoff after shooting a round 11 under par, 25 on the nine-hole, par 36 course.
Relegated to second place after shooting the same was Peyton Mitchell, Bretton Williams, Donnie Freeman, Andy York, and Rick Brown, with Blake Smith, Jackson Kennard, Jerry Cloud, Bert Martin, and Jeff Conville coming in third at 8 under par.
Dwayne “Snook” Harrell, David Chestnut, Roby Surber, and Paul Trosclair were next at 7 under par, followed by Tommy Cruse, David Broadway, Ian Tilley, Layton Garrett, and Brandon Butler.
Each Tuesday during the spring and summer, the Jackson Parish Golf Course hosts the “Tuesday Scramble,” where individuals are paired together based on handicaps and compete for prizes in the pro shop. To register, call (318) 259-7247 or sign up in the pro shop at least one hour before play begins.
